Banded Mongoose

If you have snakes, then you need mongooses! The most famous mongoose is Rikki Tikki Tavi. This is his cousin, the banded mongoose.

I don't think that big python is in much danger though. In fact, wikipedia says that banded mongooses eat beetles and millipedes, mostly. But just like Rikki, this mongoose has a family. We found it with a bunch of other mongooses, digging in the sand and under a broken log.

We also saw a slender mongoose later.
