Nile Crocodile

We saw quite a few crocodiles on the trip. From our boat, we saw them swimming in the Chobe River, and we saw them sunning on the shore there and in the Okavango Delta.

This is a medium sized crocodile. We saw smaller ones and one very memorable giant.

Missionaries to Africa have baptized converts in the rivers since the colonial era. You'd think that people would refuse, but apparently not. In 2024, a “prophet” was killed and eaten by crocodiles during a baptism.
