One afternoon, we did not go on a game drive as usual. Instead, we got in a small motorboat to see the Okavango Delta from the water. Slowly, we cruised among reeds, lillies, and other aquatic plants.
There were wide waterways and narrow channels among the plants. Those narrow lines were made by hippos. In fact, a hidden hippo gave us quite a surprise when it suddenly rose up and splashed close to our boat.
We found this colorful little guy on a long reed above the water. Shakes and Mosomali called it a painted reed frog. It's a tiny little thing, easily fitting in the palm of your hand.
