In a field of tall grass, we found a small group of these unusual antelope. Pronounced “sassaby”, they are common tsessebe.
They are much larger than impalas, but not quite as big as kudu. During the next few days we saw more of them in the Selinda reserve, but not often.
On this occassion, we were a bit distracted by their odd companion, seen next.
