Elephant statue

Elephant statue

This elephant statue is almost as tall as I am and carved from a single piece of stone. Two were added to the gate to commemorate the birth of Maharaja Sawai Bhawani Singh in 1931.

Usually statues commemorate a bloody battle or a self-important ruler. I like these statues for a baby much better.
