Rose-ringed parakeet

As we were walking out of the Fort of Agra, this parakeet stopped at a convenient spot to pose for photographs.

The name parakeet means small or medium-sized parrot. We saw them again and again as we traveled, especially on recently harvested grain fields in the countryside.
