On every busy road, there were fruit and vegetable sellers. Even in the cities, they were ubiquitous.
We never saw modern supermarkets. There must have been fast food franchises, but I don't remember them.
We never ate from the fruit carts for fear of Delhi belly. The rule is “Boil it, cook it, peel it or forget it.”
