Subject: Mr. Ray Tobey's Refusal to serve as a Juror

Dear Mr. Lambert,

I just read your article in today's THE INDEPENDENT of Redwood City concerning Mr. Ray Tobey's admirable show of civil courage.

If you have any way of contacting this gentleman, please convey to him my most cordial congratulations because I agree with his statement wholeheartedly.

You may forward this message to him if you are in a position to do so, because I would like to know whether he would be willing to address audiences at the local Peace and Justice Center and perhaps also at San José State University.

People with Mr. Tobey's integrity are desperately needed at this time when terrible destructions and deceptions are being carried out in the name of "freedom", "democracy", and "the fight against terrorism"...

Thank you, Mr. Lambert, for your article, and please thank Mr. Tobey on my behalf.
