Andrew Williams moved to Belmont in 1966 and has watched many city
officials walk in and out of local politics. At the meeting, Williams
urged the City Council to focus on youth involvement, by creating
positions for them on other city projects and commissions. He also
questioned the city’s decision to build a new City Hall when two
elementary schools might need to shut down.

The third candidate Kranen, called "fine" by Feierbach, said his focus
will be the city budget and a much-needed police station that has been
discussed by the City Council the past few years. He said he’s optimistic
about the race.
