Belmont's Permitting Problem Process

If it weren't for Belmont's bad reputation, we wouldn't have one at all. However, Belmont is trying to improve the situation with it's new One Stop Permit Center. If elected as your representative, I will strive to be an intermediary between you and our bureaucracy, at your request. Please see the contact page to let me know how your project is coming along!

Historic Sites

Not long ago, Belmont had a thriving antique business based in Angelo House. In Emmet House and The Van's Restaurant, we still have a heritage to be proud of. I support the preservation of Emmett House in the present plan for 6th and O'Neill. Take a look at more of the History of Belmont!

Traffic

Everyone's favorite problem in Belmont is traffic. Ray Davis, our Director of Public Works, presented a comprehensive and very enlightening report on Ralston Avenue traffic to the City Council on May 13th. If you are concerned about traffic conditions in Belmont (and who isn't?), I suggest that you get a copy and read it.

I have a suggestion that just might reduce traffic congestion around our some of our schools: make it safe for our children to walk to school. Just imagine: no hoards of SUVs and mini-vans (or, at least, greatly diminished hoards) swarming around our schools during the morning rush and in the afternoon. Belmont is already in the planning stage with California's Safe Routes to Schools (SR2S) program, to create a safe route to Nesbitt School.

Elect me and I'll press for greater city participation in SR2S. Less traffic. Yes.
